Epic day out on the lake! Tons of members and friends came out and all had plenty time to ride on a brand new 2008 Tigé RZ2 thanks to Wasatch Marine The weather was almost perfect as members came out throughout the day for some sweet sessions and killer bbq and then when things started to chill out and the sun was going down tons of members showed up and we had a few killer dusk sessions. The boat was packed with tons of different flavors of Zotes Sunflower Seeds for everyone to try, (my fav tequila lime). Buywake.com hooked everyone up with discount coupons and Tyler from University of Utah wake board club and others walked away with 25$ gift cards to Buywake.com.A highlight of the meet up was when Mitch from Boardco.com came down and showed everyone how wake surfing is done on his Centurion Enzo. Jeff from Wasatch Marine was killin it all day letting people know his shop is about more then just yacht sales.Look out for tons of new members joining up on the forum that came out riding with us cause these dudes and dudets were sick!

Our first meet up session will go down this Friday May 30 at Utah Lake. We will be hanging out in the American Fork Harbor all day, from 10am until the sun goes down. WakeUtah will be bringing our official boat from Wasatch Marine, a 2008 Tigé RZ2.
This is a great opportunity to come ride behind an awesome new boat from the guys at Wasatch Marine, hang out amongst fellow wake riders, and have a good time.
Grab your family and friends, throw your boards in your ride, load up the cooler, hook up your boats, and head down to Utah Lake on Friday, to have a great time.
If you want to learn how to be awesome, from an IWA judge, a legend creator, the winch master himself, and many many others, come join us for this weekend’s meet up session at Utah Lake.
Sponsors for this event are as follows:
Providing WakeUtah with a 2008 RZ2 from their new line of Tigé Boats. Go check out the new Tigé Boats at their shop. If a wake boat isn’t your fancy, they also carry lines of Cruisers Yachts, and Regal Boats. At Wasatch Marine, the customer comes first, and they mean it. Go chat with Jason and Scott, and tell them WakeUtah sent you.
Everyone who joins us in this session will receive a 10% off all wake items on Buywake. Along with this discount, a few riders will receive a $25 electronic gift card to Buywake, to be selected by the WakeUtah team.
Zotes will be providing some samples of their quality product which has outstanding flavor, and is packaged in a convenient mobile dispensing unit. You have to try these seeds!

If you have browsed around WakeUtah lately you have seen that we are planning a number of events the we refer to as ‘Meetups.’ So what is a Meetup? A Meet up is a type of informal event, focused around any given activity. Meetups help people:
- Find others in their area who share their interests
- Learn, teach, and share things
- Make friends and have fun
- Rise up, stand up, unite, and make a difference
- Be a part of something bigger—both locally and globally
In our case a WakeUtah Meetup will be focused around bringing wakeboarders together in one central place to hangout, ride, meet other riders, and just generally have a good time on and off the water. At our Meetup’s we will have our Official Boat for everyone to ride behind, but we invite others to bring their boat out to share in the good time. We we also be working with a number of different sponsors to bring the latest gear for everyone at the Meetups to try.
There are no requirements or skill level restrictions for riders who want to participate in a Meetup. Our main goal for these Meetups is to foster an environment where riders can come and progress in a comfortable and friendly environment.
We plan to have Meetups at as many different places in Utah as possible, because of the diversity of locations each Meet up will be structured a little different. All details about a particular Meetup will be posted on WakeUtah at least a couple of days in advance, but you can always see what we have in the works by visiting the Events Calendar
Please contact us or add a comment below, with any questions regarding WakeUtah Meetups. Also if anyone would like us to demo a product or pass swag out at a Meet up please contact us as well.
First WakeUtah Meetup is tentatively scheduled for May 30 at Utah Lake. Check back soon for more information…
Countless boats in the slips at Jordanelle Reservoir, almost brings a tear to your eye, that’s how the on the water boat show felt to me. A number of my.WakeUtah.com members showed up to check out the new boats that the dealers had to offer, if you were one of the brave ones you got to ride behind one. I say brave because the water was a frigid 49 to 55 degrees.
Boat dealers from all over the valley brought out their 2008 line up to show off what they could do, from the Malibu’s at Taylors Boats to the new Epic Wakeboats from Fred’s Marine. There was plenty to choose from; not forgetting Wasatch Marine who brought a few Tigé boats out so you could see what you were going to ride behind when you come out to the meet up events.
Dewey, Brando, James and I showed up Friday for a mid-day run and have got the Tigé wake dialed in! Saturday morning Dewey and I took out young Zach, who braved the water and shredded the wake. Later that day when the wind started pick up we went out and had an awesome Indo board session with the guys. Good times were had by all. That reminds me, wear sun screen kids, and don’t get burned out on the water! Check out the images of the day below:
For those of you who were there, you witnessed wakeboarding’s FIRST high definition wakeboarding flick, and walked away with some sweet SWAG. I don’t think there was one person who walked out without something in their hands.
The premier was the brain child of Dave Patterson, who has held other premiers for Transgression and The Truth, and always comes to the table with some awesome SWAG. This event he put together a raffle that went to the benefit of a fellow wakerider who smashed his face on his first outing of the year. Those who bought tickets walked away with some pretty sweet gear too, including $100 gift certificates to BoardCo.com, some sweet gear from Fred’s Marine, and a brand new Slingshot wakeboard!
Drive was put together by Sean Kilgus and is a pretty sweet flick, the high definition
film featured riders such as Danny Harf, Rusty Malinoski, JD Webb, Chad Sharpe, and many others. Some of the tricks we saw was Chad’s double back roll, and Rusty’s 1080. Truly an awesome flick, and the high definition only makes it better!
The house was packed, and we at WakeUtah.com want to thank all those who came out, you can expect that we will have other events in the future mainly due to the success of events like these!

Utah’s own Marc Glover took the top prize in the 19 and under category in the Wake in the Park event put on by Idaho Water Sports on May 5, 2008. The rail jam was the first of its kind in Idaho and was held in a wave pool at a water park.
The rail was a 45 foot A frame rail, but there was also a kicker for those who were more comfortable hitting the kicker. Marc Spent his time on the rail, after having hit Dewey’s Rail all summer last year, it was his forte. There were about 25 other competitors, each had about a 30 minute window to hit the rail as many times as they could.
The wave pool at the park was set up pretty nice, no waves were being thrown, but with the kicker and the rail there was plenty going on. Marc reports that the event was put together pretty well and Idaho Water Sports did a great job putting it together, he hinted that they would be doing more for sure in the future. In his winnings Marc walked away with a Liquid Force Fish wakeboard. If you see Marc out on the water, tell him congratulations!
