Not sure where the Wake Utah comes into play there. As one of the owners of Wake Utah I can tell you that we did not 'run' that contest, but did and always do anything we can to 'help wake boarding'. That, in fact, is our main goal, to help grow and bring together the local wake boarding scene. I also know that Monster Energy worked long and hard to put together everything needed to have a great contest, including: have countless meetings to gain access to the great venue; get all the prizes together; hire the band and food people; get interest from sponsors, spectators, and riders; amongst many, many other things. The IWA has the task of registering all the riders, finding many good men and women to volunteer their time to help get people where they need to be, drive the boats, announce all the awesome going down, set-up and tear down, clean up after everyone so we can hopefully go back next year, and so much more. Having run many rail jams and contest myself, I can tell you that these things are extremly costly, stressing and time consuming, and are in no way possible without a whole group of people coming together. Big thanks to everyone who actually support the local wakeboarding scene; whether it be hanging out and enjoying a day on the lake with all your buddies; riding in a local competition; watching some of the best local riders in a rail jam; helping wipe down your friends boat after a session; teaching a new person how to get up on a wakeboard; or even make a comment on a story from WakeUtah.com.
