Dewey’s Rail III is now going to be held on Saturday, July 25th. But, don’t miss a few practice pulls, party and a night session on Friday the 24th.
This years rail is even mellow enough for the first time session-er. If it’s still a bit too intimidating, no worries, I will be setting up a short flat bar for your first session. Check out the pic below for a preview.
Come join the only wake board rail competition in Utah. This year we travel to the House of Webster’s in Delta, Utah to session with the best riders in all of the surrounding areas; from Vegas, St. George, SLC, Idaho, NorthWest, and everywhere in between.
Prizes from Oakley, Marine Products & others, will be offered to the winners with a few give a ways to all who participate. The top prize is an automatic invite to the best rail session imaginable; Seven Peaks Rail Jam, September 11, 2009 in their heated, wave pool. An entry fee of $15 will be required, with most going back to the riders.
Following the competition WakeUtah.com joins Dewey’s Rail in introducing The Slide School. This will be everyone’s chance to learn how to ride a rail. It’s an opportunity for everyone who has always wanted to try, but often been imtimidated by the massive rails, to session something a bit more mellow, a simple flat bar. The winners and all other riders will be sticking around to give their tips on how to slay the rail scene and look cool doing it. All you need to ride is $5 and a helmet.

WakeUtah in conjunction with Utah’s Outdoor Adventure Expo, will be hosting a ‘Wake Park’ rail expo at the State Fair Grounds (1000 West NorthTemple) this weekend. In between shows be sure to checkout some of the other activities that will be going on like: The BBQ Cook Off, Mtn Bike Track, Beer Garden, Fishing & Hunting Demos, Boating in the Jordan River and so much more.

Most of us are sun worshippers. When it’s raining and the wind is blowing, the lakes are not in the best condition. When a storm comes, with any chance of magnitude, most are tying down yard furniture and closing windows. I choose to use my time building rails, just for the opportunity that arises about once a year. Multiple parks around the valley will get backed up, and flood. This begins the park session.
If it starts to rain and puddles grow big enough to ride, make sure to look for Dewey’s Rail, and the WakeUtah crew.
If you know of a possible winch site feel free to contact, email (dewey@wakeutah.com) or call me anytime so we can set up a session. (801) 706-6820. For more info on a suitable location check out the story a little way down this very page.
